چکیده
Salmon feeds have changed over the years, leading to biochemical composition of fish. The main aim this study was compare compositions and storage stability commercially produced organic conventional salmon. Organically (n = 40) conventionally farmed salmon 39) were sampled. fish anesthetized, killed by gill cutting bled before filleting. Fish samples subjected proximate analysis, fatty acid amino composition, along with colour TBARS analyses. lipid content organically 13% 17 %, respectively. Organic contained approximately 48 % more EPA DHA than did fish, 17.2 g kg?1 vs. 11.6 kg?1, had lower saturation conventional, higher in To conclude, differences between fresh related composition. high energy level both groups should be considered when making dietary recommendations. is less stable due its long-chained unsaturated acids, appears similar some years ago.

Lysozyme transgenic Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.)
Disease outbreaks are a major constraint to salmon aquaculture worldwide. Therefore, there is considerable interest in ¢nding means to alleviate this problem by enhancing their innate immune system. Because lysozyme is an important component of this system, we generated a line of transgenic Atlantic salmon using a gene construct consisting of a rainbow trout lysozyme gene under the control of t...

Distribution Th e species’ range encompasses Europe, North America, and Green land (1) (Fig.1). Non-anadromous forms occur in Europe in a few land-locked locations in Norway and Sweden, and throughout the Neva/Lake Ladoga system and Karelia regions of Russia. In North America non-anadromous forms occurred throughout most of the species’ historical range, as far west as Lake Ontario, and remain ...
متن کاملInfluence of dietary lipid composition on cardiac pathology in farmed Atlantic salmon, Salmo salar L.
The present study investigated the short-term (5 months) effect of replacing dietary marine oils with vegetable oils on the development of arteriosclerotic changes in the heart of Atlantic salmon, Salmo salar. The experiment was performed as a randomized observer-blinded and controlled trial. Farmed Atlantic salmon were randomly sampled from a study population containing 900 individuals. The sa...
متن کاملThe Impact of Escaped Farmed Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar L.) on Catch Statistics in Scotland
In Scotland and elsewhere, there are concerns that escaped farmed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.) may impact on wild salmon stocks. Potential detrimental effects could arise through disease spread, competition, or inter-breeding. We investigated whether there is evidence of a direct effect of recorded salmon escape events on wild stocks in Scotland using anglers' counts of caught salmon (class...

An experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of temperature, feed fat content and dietary oil source on growth and nutrient utilisation of Atlantic salmon parr (f 19 g). The fish were reared in freshwater at 2 or 8 jC for 6 months at light/dark cycles of 12 h:12 h. Each of four feeds was provided to triplicate groups of fish at each temperature. The feeds were formulated with marine f...
